Hey folks,

Not sure how many of the WvW crew still checks in here, but I wanted to let you guys and the rest of the guild know that JF from Amazon Basin passed away back on February 1st.

Ceolstan (one of AB's leaders) posted the following on the SBI forums:

Dear SBI WvW players:

The newer players may not know jfbrown42. He has been sidelined for over a year while battling sinoid cancer. We learned today that he lost that battle last night.

Jim Brown was a proud member of the Amazon Basin. We'd tapped him for the Leadership Team, and when Guild Wars 2 was announced, he was so excited for World v World. This was the one aspect of the game he played, and he played the living daylights out of it. Since he was able to work from home, he'd fire up two computers: one for work and one to refresh all the siege on the SBI borderlands.

Some of you may remember this. During the N. American work hours, he was often the only player consistently on the SBI BL, and he made sure that the siege was refreshed.and ready. If you wondered where he was and why the siege was no longer being refreshed, it was because he had to undergo cancer treatment. His life had to focus on his family and battling his illness.

His obituary is here: James F "Jim" Brown. You can see that his family noted his love of gaming. If you remember him and feel moved to do so, the family has requested donations to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Let the family know that SBI remembers one of its own.

RIP, Jim.

Feel free to go to the link and leave a note of condolences if you'd like so that JF's family knows that he was well loved by his gaming community.

RIP JF. Thanks for all the siege.
